What is PhIMA?

PhIMA strives to provide valuable learning opportunities and networking events for agencies, publishers, and clients alike.

The organization’s intent is to encourage open communication in an effort to increase the sense of community within the Greater Philadelphia market. Participation and membership will help to support the future of the industry and is open to professionals of all levels.

Board of Directors

Jessica McManimen, President, PhIMA

Currently, Jessica is a stay at home mom living in Lancaster with her husband, Alex, and son, Colin. Despite not having a full-time professional career, Jessica keeps busy and stays connected to the industry by way of her involvement on the PhIMA Board.

Most recently, Jessica was employed by NetPlus Marketing, where she served as the VP of Operations. Jessica oversaw the following multi-disciplinary team – media, search, marketing intelligence and campaign management. Jessica’s primary responsibility as VP of Operations was to ensure that her team kept the work flowing smoothly from start to finish - on time, on budget, and better than expected.

Beginning her career with Harmelin Media, and with the exception of a year spent working for AOL in Dulles, VA, Jessica worked for NetPlus for well over seven years, starting as a senior Media Buyer, and advancing through account services to operations.

Erik Harbison, Senior Director, Interactive Marketing, TrueAction

Erik currently oversees a group of professionals managing digital marketing initiatives for a group of partners within GSI Commerce’s interactive agency division, TrueAction. His group of partners represents major brands within the sports and leagues vertical. He is responsible for overall strategic direction and performance of these accounts. Prior to his current role, he was Director of Performance Marketing at Refinery. Erik and his team were responsible for growing the online marketing practice and success for the company and brands like Apple Vacations and GMAC Bank. Erik came to Refinery via an acquisition of his search engine marketing company, directMASS, in 2005.

Ian Pilling, Strategic Partnerships, Comcast Interactive Media

Ian is currently leading efforts to expand strategic relationships for the Comcast Interactive Media (CIM) properties. In this role he’s responsible with developing and maintaining partnerships with websites that complement CIM’s core entertainment and multi-platform focus to drive traffic and revenue growth for the business unit.

Ian joined CIM in 2006 as an Analyst and focused on advertising strategy and analytics helping improve advertising monetization across the CIM portfolio including Comcast.net, Fancast, and Fandango.

Prior to joining CIM, Ian was a marketing manager at AOL/MapQuest, where he led business segment and product marketing initiatives for MapQuest Business Solutions. His responsibilities included strategic marketing, lead generation, and public relations, as well as communications with MapQuest’s more than 1400 enterprise customers. He joined MapQuest in early 2004.

Earlier in his career, Ian was involved with early-stage technology companies in a variety of marketing and product management roles, helping set business and product strategy and bringing new software products to market. He started his career in Washington, DC, serving as a Legislative Assistant for a member of Congress and in a variety of political roles.

Ian earned an MBA from Drexel University’s Lebow College of Business and also holds a B.A in Political Science from Hobart College in Geneva, New York. He currently serves on the board of the Philadelphia Interactive Marketing Association (PhIMA) and an Advisory Board for Need in Deed.

James Huth, Director Business Development, WCAU-TV / NBCPhiladelphia.com

James Huth is the Director of Business Development at the NBC Universal Local Media outlet in Philadelphia, WCAU-TV, where he is responsible for the acquisition of new customers and the development of new ad products and services. In addition, he is responsible for revenue generation for on-line, mobile, and Out of Home platforms. Prior to joining NBC Universal, James was the co-founder and COO of REON Broadband, a Broadband Service Provider, which provided high-speed data and networking services to small and mid-size businesses in New England. Conversent Communications successfully acquired REON Broadband. He also served as the Vice President/Group Sales Manager at Blair Television where he worked with clients such as Gannett, Disney, Scripps Howard, and Post Newsweek. Mr. Huth serves on the Board of Advisors for Phind Me, a Mobile Publishing Company, and Virtual Rush, a consumer video game development company. James is a 1989 graduate of Temple University’s School of Communications and Theater.

Debrianna Obara, VP Media, Razorfish

Debrianna heads up the Philadelphia-based media department of Razorfish, which has extensive online media planning and buying experience with clients such as Brooks Brothers, Roche Laboratories, Wyeth, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She relocated from NYC to join Razorfish in late 2002. Before joining Razorfish, Debrianna had eight years of offline and online media experience at NY agencies including Draft Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather, and ID Media. Lately, Debrianna’s writing can be seen in Pharmaceutical Executive magazine and she is often asked to present at various industry conferences.

Prior to entering the advertising world, she was a Business English Teacher with BMW and Philip Morris in Munich, Germany, and a Visiting Lecturer in Conversational and Grammatical English at a university in Poland. Debrianna also is active organizing charitable contributions for a small rural community in Zimbabwe and is always eager to share her experiences in Africa and accept donations. Andrea Palmer, Director, Media Services, Digitas Health

Andrea joined Digitas Health in February of 2008, bringing over six years of digital and traditional media experience from many different verticals. In her time at Digitas Health, Andrea has played leadership roles on high profile media accounts at Astra Zeneca, Shire Pharmaceuticals, and Abbott Laboratories. Prior to joining Digitas Health, Andrea was an active member of the digital media community in the Washington, DC market, with agencies Rosenthal Partners and Siquis, Ltd.

She has also been a regular contributor to prominent industry publications and events, both as a panel speaker and occasional writer for industry newsletters as a respected member of the digital media community.

Brent Brower, Senior Account Executive, Weather Bug

Brent has over seven years of sales experience in the interactive space. He began his professional career at Verizon Information Services, where he served as a District Sales Manager. From there, he moved onto RealAge, Inc. as an Account Executive where he managed nationwide advertising sales to pharmaceutical and consumer health product manufacturers for a leading health lifestyle website, targeting consumer needs for such companies as Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.

Prior to WeatherBug, Brent was with Waterfront Media, where he developed and implemented sales strategies to pharmaceutical brands and consumer products for several online properties including The South Beach Diet online and EverydayHealth.com. He joined WeatherBug in 2006 as an Account Executive. He is currently responsible for selling to agencies and brands in parts of the Northeast region, as well as the entire Southeast. In his two years at the company, he has branched out from the pharmaceutical category and has helped to leverage WeatherBug’s properties across all verticals.

Brent is very active in the fight against cancer, and hosts an annual benefit from which all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Andy Rosefsky, Sales Director, PointRoll

Andy Rosefsky has been selling in the interactive space for more than 10 years. His first break into the interactive world was with America Online, where he supported the sales efforts for the Shop@ Retail team, consisting of 3 Vice-Presidents and 5 Sales Managers. He then moved back to Philadelphia as a National Account Executive with AccuWeather.com. After 4 successful years at AccuWeather.com, Andy moved to Comcast as one of the company’s first National Interactive Sales Managers. This new group was responsible for selling all of Comcast’s interactive properties. Currently, Andy is managing the New England region for PointRoll as Sales Director.

Phyllis Sudman, VP, Strategic Partnerships & Ad Sales, David’s Bridal

Phyllis Sudman is VP of Strategic Partnerships and Advertising Sales for David’s Bridal. Prior to joining David’s Bridal, Phyllis served as VP of Sponsorship and Advertising Sales at Revolution Health, which was acquired by Waterfront Media. In May 2007, Phyllis served as Vice President at AOL, where she worked for 11 years. During her tenure at AOL, she developed and negotiated strategic advertising and content partnerships with media, health, e-commerce, and entertainment companies. Phyllis started her career in the online industry with the Sales & Marketing Group at PressLink, the online subsidiary of Knight-Ridder.

While Phyllis takes pride in the successes of her professional career, she places a greater emphasis on the accomplishments in her personal life. In 2005, Phyllis’ three month old son, Simon, died. Determined to do something, she formed Simon’s Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of children by raising awareness about the conditions that lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death. Simon’s Fund (www.simonsfund.org) has raised over $500,000, and provided over 1,000 free heart screenings to students in the Philadelphia area. To date, about 2 out of every 1,000 children screened will discover a potentially fatal heart condition. Phyllis lives in Plymouth Meeting with her husband Darren and two children, Sally and Jaden.

Eric Wolk, Sales Manager, ValueClick Media

Eric Wolk manages the Philadelphia region for ValueClick Media and is the newest member of the PhIMA board of directors. With more than nine years of advertising sales experience, Eric has spent the past few years focused on reestablishing ValueClick Media’s presence in the Philadelphia marketplace. He has built efficient and effective campaigns with the media teams at Digitas Health, Harmelin Media, and GSI Commerce, along with direct clients including QVC, Traffic.com, and Vanguard, to name a few. Prior to joining ValueClick Media, Eric managed the national sales efforts for Katz Radio’s suburban radio stations. While with Katz, he helped several national businesses strengthen their local presence, including Dunkin Donuts and TJX Companies. Since graduating from the University of Maryland, Eric has spent most of his career in New York City. While he recently moved further down the turnpike, Eric still resides in New Jersey making it easier to split time between New York and Philadelphia. Eric is energized to help increase the quality membership and exposure for PhIMA by identifying strategic partners that share the organization’s core values. He is also pretty pumped to take the field this Spring to coach his son’s Tee-ball team.
